Tom McKennab (4.00 / 2)
You forgot Hamilton County's Tom McKenna, who is running for Secretary of State, and as Governor Frank O'Bannon's Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, O'Bannon's Chief of Staff in the Lt. Governor's office, former head of the Indiana Department of Commerce, and more, Tom is by far the most experienced and qualified candidate for any of the statewide offices.

Tom Mc Kenna (1.00 / 1)
I'm sorry, he hasn't made a lasting impression as I have met him only once. Never has Tom come to any of the Howard County Democratic meetings.  As a matter of fact, I have tried inviting him numerous times to a "Meet and Greet" event to be held in Kokomo to no avail.  So...I'm sorry, but if Tom wishes to be recognized, he needs to make himself a bit more known to the people he wishes to represent.

Not according to McKenna (4.00 / 1)
According to the McKenna for Secretary of State page on Facebook, he was in Howard County at a meeting or a JJ dinner in October, as well as a number of other counties.  I know for a fact that Hamilton County and Fifth District chair Keith Clock has been going to many meetings with him.

I don't know if this link will work, Facebook links don't always, but try this:

The last time I checked... (4.00 / 1)
the Secretary of State was a statewide office.  There are 91 other counties in the state besides Howard County my friend. Tom has been to my county as well, but I'm not going negative because he hasn't been back yet.

Going by resumes alone, it looks like Tom McKenna has a TON more experience than Vop.  In such a volatile looking election year, we need someone with private and government experience to lead our ticket and take on a Republican wave.  Tom McKenna should be our choice at the convention.

The last time I checked continued (2.50 / 2)
I am well aware of the fact there are 91 other counties in Indiana.  I am also aware of the fact when Tom McKenna came to our county JJ Dinner, he gave ONLY his resume, and did nothing to share what his vision and goal for the SoS office was.  Vop did, and has continued to do so.  Experience accounts for quite a bit when running for office, but so does laying out a goal, and a means of how to get there.  Vop has continually shared that, and until I hear of what Tom plans to do if he is elected to the SoS office, I am not convinced.

Just the opposite here (4.00 / 2)
Both Vop and Tom spoke at my county's JJ Dinner, and while neither gave the most rousing stump speech, Vop quickly got lost in whatever point he was trying to make and rambled on at some length, completely losing most of the crowd.  IF Vop was trying to make some point of why he should be Secretary of State vs a more experienced and more qualified candidate (McKenna), I did not hear it then, later, or now.

He does seem like a very nice man, soothing voice, articulate, intelligent.  Maybe he should cut his teeth on a local office before jumping straight to statewide office.

Thanks for posting these. (4.00 / 1)
I've still got a lot to learn about most of these candidates and this helps.

First impressions:

Vop's website is very impressive and he seems to be leveraging social networking most effectively thus far.

It's fairly easy to determine what party Pete Buttigieg, Tom McKenna and Tamyra D'Ippolito belong to.  The others are less obvious.  I wish I lived in a state where candidates could be more proud of displaying their Democratic party affiliation up front.

And, for the sake of thoroughness, here's the link to Tamyra D'Ippolito's and Evan Bayh's pages:

Yes, even Democratic authority.
