Saturday Night Open Thread

A few random thoughts before I return to the last part of my Never-Ending-Move, which consists largely of the Never-Ending-Desk-Assembly-Process.
  • So, let me get this straight: When the Republicans said that Tim Kaine's two years as governor of Virginia and full term as mayor of Richmond was a laughable amount of experience for someone seeking the office of Vice President, what they really meant was that he would be plenty experienced if he had just done those things in an exponentially smaller state and city?

    Seriously?

  • How do I know that Congressman Baron Hill is doing well in his re-election bid? In his delirious anti-Baron fervor, Scott Fluhr is now desperate enough to actually write a post reacting to, of all things, Bil Browning's Twitter feed. Absolutely hilarious.
  • Is it bad that I think these web-based spots are actually notably better than the shitty ads being put out by our gubernatorial candidate?

What else is going on tonight?

Bloomington values (4.00 / 2)
What made Fluhr's sputtering so hilarious was his reference to "Bloomington values" since Bil Browning lives in innercity Indianapolis. Why didn't Fluhr just come out and say "San Francisco values"? That's the current politically correct way for Republicans to deride and jibe LGBT voters.

Pssst Scott: there are lesbians and gays living everywhere - including many thousands in those 19 southern Indiana counties you are trying to get votes from for your candidate, Millionaire Mike.

My Twitter feed? (4.00 / 2)
Okay, I can see following my Twitter feed if you like what I have to say or want links to our posts when I send those out.  But doing a post based off one of my Twits for your conservative blog?  Geez.  Stalker.

And what's wrong with LGBT people's employment being based on their work performance?  Does "conservative" equal "bigoted" now?

campaign spots (4.00 / 1)
If JLT expects to win, she is going to need to do more spots like this instead of those weak powder blue spots that she has been doing...time is running out on her and  most people dont even know she is running.

Her ads are absolutely atrocious -- (0.00 / 0)
And Mitch's are absolutely the opposite.

And yet, quite a bit of money is being spent on those things. She's damn lucky she is essentially being given a ground game by the Campaign for Change folks.

Yeah... (0.00 / 0)
a lot of people are expecting the Obama wave to life this tugboat.  But then I think the party people are still very pissed at her defeating Jim.. and aren't pushing much.

I wholeheartedly believe you are wrong... (4.00 / 2)
...on that last point.

And even if you were true, none of that excuses the piss-poor campaign being run by our candidate.

On a completely unrelated note, I just saw an infomercial pushing a canned-oxygen product.

A can with oxygen in it.

What is this world coming to?

Our wonderful "free market" at work. (0.00 / 0)
Pollute the water and air, then "privatize" natural resources and sell it to the masses.

Yes, even Democratic authority.

"piss-poor campaign" (4.00 / 1)
Implies that there is a campaign being run; right now it's not much more then a glorified phone bank.  A good ground game wins every time and right now we have no ground game.
