Orentlicher Loans Campaign $327,000

Breaking from his Pre-Primary FEC Filing, Dr. David Orentlicher has loaned his own campaign $327,000. In addition, he received around $200,000 more in donations between January and the filing.

My understanding is that Dr. Orentlicher had hoped to raise considerably more than that. Nevertheless, his own deep pockets, much like Dr. Myers, are going to allow him to continue to be competitive and on the air all the way to the finish line.

Dr. Myers filing is also on-line, but it records nothing new other than about $14,000 in contributions.

Neither Mays nor Carson are up yet.

Considering that David has been long been saying he would need $500k, and that including his loan he's reached over $700k, I don't see how you can come up with the statement that he "hoped to raise considerably more than that."

I've said this before, but Drs. Myers and Orentlicher's personal contributions to their campaigns essentially erase Andre Carson's advantage with the DC PACs and lobbyist money.

Orentlicher has raised more individual contributions than Congressman Carson, who tends to rely on out of state interest groups to fund his organization.

You think David was always planning to loan himself $327,000? This is the first I'd ever heard that that was just "part of the plan." But I'm terribly sorry to get in the way. Please resume your spin. I'm sure David O and all the Orentlicher folks are just as pleased as punch about having to loan the campaign $327,000.

Andre should have got a job that paid some money instead of relying on his grandmother. Maybe relying on her death to get him a job in congress might have been a mistake. Come on Andre be your own man for once. Quit being everyones butt monkey, get your own opinions, get your own money, have some sense of self and some respect for yourself, get a job, get a job that does not need the name of your grandmother to get you in the door. And you go David O you are still in the running for my vote. Using some of you own money is to be commended.

Mario sorry, I did say the whole rating system was new to me. I got you confused with wilson who has been flagging my posts and having them removed. As where I would have posted my apology next to my post but that post is removed now it seems. I thought his comment was fairly accurate though I would have phrased it differently myself. I gave it a 3 because on the merits, he isn't wrong.
